Santra Devi

Santra Devi and Patashi Devi are experienced bhopa artists who recite ballads from the epic of Pabuji (Pabuji ki phad). Patashi Devi is the wife of the late legendary bhopa artist Mohan Bhopa. Together with her husband, she performed at national and international festivals. Later, her daughter-in-law Santra Devi joined the two artist:ins to sing with them. Patashi Devi has shared her art and experiences with university students around the world. The famous writer William Darlymple dedicated an entire chapter of his book to the exceptionally talented couple Nine Lives .
