Vinod Joshi
Over the past two decades, Vinod Joshi has extensively documented the indigenous folk music traditions and culture of Rajasthan. He has devoted his life to passionately exploring the music, arts, and crafts of various local communities in the "seven cultural zones" of Rajasthan, India. Vinod has played a critical role in creating a number of pioneering heritage-based development initiatives. He has worked as Community Director of Jaipur Virasat Foundation (JVF), Regional Festival Director of Jodhpur Rajasthan International Folk Festival (RIFF), Jodhpur, Festival Director of Momasar Utsav and CEO of Jajam Foundation. Recently, he conceived and directed Singing Sands, a unique folk music festival in Sheo, Barmer, Rajasthan, India, based on a community of artists.
In recent years, Vinod has played a key role in the conception and design of over 40 regional folk music festivals, providing a platform for more than five thousand folk artists a platform.
