Nikola Buljančević
Nikola Buljančević was born in 1996 in Ćuprija/Serbia. He started playing double bass in 2010 at the School of Musical Talents in Ćuprija in the class of Aleksandar Blagojević. In 2016 he started his undergraduate studies at the Academy of Music in Belgrade in the class of Slobodan Gerić.
Since 2022 he has been working part-time at the Opera of the National Theater in Belgrade as a chamber and orchestral musician. He has performed with a number of internationally renowned musicians, including Roman Simović, Guy Braunstein, Sreten Krstić, Andrea Bocelli, Stefan Milenković, Hossein Pishkar, Stanko Madić, Arman Tigranyan, Aleksandar Marković, Vahan Mardirossian, Viktoria Mullova, Valentina Lisitsa, Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi, Yuri Bashmet, Ye Eun Choi, Aleksandar Madžar, Wanzhe Zhang, Mikael Samsonov, Srboljub Dinić, Pacho Flores, Quan Yuan, Bryn Terfel, Daniel Hope, Camilla Nylund, to name a few.
He has participated in numerous national and international competitions for soloists and orchestras, such as the Competition of the Republic in Niš, the European Music Festival for Youth in Neerpelt (Belgium), etc. He has participated in a number of master classes: Alberto Bocini, Josef Niederhammer, Zoran Marković, Stefano Sciascia. He has played in youth orchestras such as Euregio Music Festival (Germany), Ceman Orchestra (Croatia), El Sistema, etc.
During his career he played with various professional orchestras such as St. George Strings, Dušan Skovran Chamber Orchestra, Belgrade Symphony Orchestra, Serbian Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra, Camerata Serbica, Kotor Art Festival Orchestra, Muzikon Chamber Orchestra, Palermo Classica, Belgrade Chamber Orchestra and from 2019 he will be a permanent member of Ensemble Metamorphosis.
