Milica Kostic

Milica Kostic was born in 1999 in Jagodina. At the age of eight she was accepted at the School of Musical Talents in Cuprija in the class of Prof. Ljiljana Rankovic, later in that of Prof. Vladimir Marković and since 2010 she is in the class of Prof. Dragutin Mladenović. She has participated in many competitions in Serbia and abroad, winning numerous prizes, including: "Petar Konjović" in Belgrade (III prize), numerous prizes at republican and international competitions in Belgrade and Nis, as well as a special prize at the international competition in Timisoara (Romania). She has performed as a soloist, in quartets and orchestras throughout Europe (Italy, Romania, Macedonia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Monaco, Denmark, Austria, Poland, Germany, France, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Netherlands) and in the USA (Chicago).

 

At the end of her education at the School for Musically Talented Childrin in Cuprija, she was awarded as the best student of her generation (2016/17). Milica has performed at numerous concerts and festivals with renowned musicians such as Roman Simovic, Gordan Nikolic, Stefan Milenkovic, Stanko Madic.... . She also attended master classes with Vlad Stankulesa, Roman Simovic, Stefan Milenkovic, Stanko Madic, Yeonyu Yong and others. The school orchestra in which she played had the opportunity to perform with Roman Simovic (concertmaster of LSO) at "BELEF" and "BEMUS", a well-known festival in Serbia.

 

She has participated in projects at home and abroad: "El Sistema" (Milan), "Bolshoi Symphony Orchestra" (Mokra Gora), "The Radio Symphony Orchestra" (Belgrade), "Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra", "St. George Strings", "Art Link" (Belgrade), "Euphony" (Graz) and since 2018 she is a member of "Ensemble Metamorphosis". Milica had the extraordinary opportunity and honor to play in the orchestra of the concert celebrating the nomination of the Danish city of Aarhus as the European Capital of Culture. With her quartet she participated in the prestigious competition "Bohdan Varhal" in Slovakia and won the first prize. Since 2022 she has been a member of the renowned Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra. With this orchestra she performed in some of the biggest concert halls in Europe, such as the "Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino" (Florence), the "Teatro Comunale" (Bolzano), the "Frauenkirche" (Dresden), the "Concertgebow" (Amsterdam), the "Festspielhaus" (Salzburg), where she played with the great Maestro Teodor Currentzis and Jukka - Pekka Saraste.

She is currently studying with Professor Marko Josifoski at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade.
