Joel Diarra

Joel Diarra plays balafon and founded the Djiguya Orchestra together with his colleagues Lassine Koné and Habib Sangaré. Launched in 2019, the orchestra from Bamako is dedicated to an independent contemporary music by combining traditional instruments from Mali with European music, thus creating a special transcultural exchange. The orchestra gained international recognition with the multimedia music performance AM ANFANG by Marc Sinan and a choreography by Kettly Noël.
