Kurbasy

The band "KURBASY" is an avant-garde music group that emerged from the renowned progressive academic theater "Les Kurbas" in Lviv. It has performed successfully both in Ukraine and throughout Europe. In its artistic work, "KURBASY" makes use of sound techniques that stem from the rich folkloric heritage of Ukraine. Three female voices experiment with the sound of cymbals, tambourines, violin and double bass. The singers' previous theater experience contributes significantly to the popularity of "KURBASY", as many audience members perceive their atmospheric performances as elements of extraordinary transcendental experiences.
