Mariana Sadovska

Mariana Sadovska was born in Lviv (Ukraine) and has lived in Cologne since 2002. She has been active as an artist throughout Europe and the USA since 1991, including as a composer of plays and songs, with her own concerts as a singer and multi-instrumentalist, with multimedia performances and workshops and as an actress and musical director of theater projects. She finds her main inspiration in the traditional music of Ukraine and Eastern Europe, which she systematically explores in terms of sound and weaves into unusual soundscapes in new arrangements and original compositions. In her works, the past becomes contemporary and the regional becomes universal.
As an experimental solo artist with voice and harmonium or piano, she has performed on stages in Switzerland, Italy, Great Britain, Estonia, Poland, Ukraine, Armenia, Afghanistan, Turkey, Israel, Canada, the USA and Germany.
