Marlene Mercedes
Dominican producer, composer, percussionist and educator Marlene Mercedes is co-founder, executive director and producer of Mediumship Music, a company of independent music producers. She studied at the National Conservatory of Music in Santo Domingo and is a percussionist with the National Symphony Orchestra, having worked with conductors such as Valery Gergiev and Carlos Miguel Prieto. Mercedes has toured with the Youth Orchestra of the Americas, collaborated with the Kipp School in Washington DC and the Muse Seek Project, a music program for deaf students, and participated in various bands such as Las Chicas del Can, Xiomara Fortuna and El Gran Poder de Diosa. As Cultural Exchange Officer for the Global Leaders Program, Mercedes has also directed music projects for Dominican television programs such as "El Show del Mediodía".
