Marta Zapparoli is an Italian sound artist, improviser, performer and independent researcher based in Berlin.
In recent years, her work has mainly focused on the intersection of the visible and invisible aspects of physics, trying to activate all poetic and conceptual levels. She captures unique images of electromagnetic radiation from space, Radio Nature (VLF), electrosmog and radio wave communication from the technological world. The relationship, connection and dialog between nature, other than human voices and our technological world is a central theme in her work. Her main instruments are a variety of antennas, radio receivers, detectors, tape recorders and tape machines. She is a member of the Splitter Orchestra in Berlin and collaborates with music theaters, musicians and multimedia artists.
