Marco Mlynek

Marco Mlynek (* 1987, DE) is a musician, composer and producer. He regularly makes music and sound design for theater, dance and film and is active in several bands. Marco is a guitarist, plays the piano and sings. In his pieces, he often combines song-based music with repetitive elements and also moves fluently into experimental electronics for stage and film. He completed his composition studies (jazz/pop) at the Maastricht Conservatory in 2012. He has already realized numerous commissioned works for the Podium Festival Esslingen, Storioni Festival Eindhoven, Beethovenfest Bonn and the Philharmonie Köln, among others. Since 2016, several stage works have been created in collaboration with director Philipp Rosendahl, including at Staatstheater Kassel, Schauspiel Stuttgart, NT Mannheim, Staatstheater Cottbus and Schauspiel Düsseldorf. Since 2018, he has been working regularly with choreographer Constantin Hochkeppel and has been a guest at the Full Spin Festival, the Ringlokschuppen Ruhr and currently at the Stadttheater Gießen. He has released two EPs and several video works with the European band project Cast Glass since 2012. Since 2021 he has been active as a guitarist and songwriter with the experimental folk rock duo 'Companion Songs', together with drummer Max Andrzejewski. Their debut album was released in May 2023.
