Andreas Arend

The work of composer and lutenist Andreas Arend combines historical and contemporary elements. He regularly performs with partners such as Nils Mönkemeyer, Hille Perl and the Trio sprezzatura22, and his compositions have been performed at the Delphi Theater Berlin, Sendesaal Bremen, Radialsystem Berlin, Muziekgebouw aan t'IJ and in collaboration with festivals such as the Copenhagen Renaissance Festival, Encanto (Helsinki), Muzyka w Raju, Schlossmediale Werdenberg, Schwetzinger SWR Festival, Bachfest Köthen. Since 2020 he has been working on the Lyra Polyversalis project, a string instrument that combines plucking and bowing.
