Nardi Simpson
Composer
Nardi Simpson is a Yuwaalaray writer, musician, composer and educator from NSW's North West freshwater plains. A founding member of Indigenous folk duo Stiff Gins, Nardi has been performing nationally and internationally for the past twenty years. A participant of Ngarra-Burria: First Peoples Composers since 2019, she was Ensemble Offspring's First Nations Composer in Residence in 2021. Nardi continues to perform with Stiff Gins, works with student ensembles and directs cross-cultural choir Barayagal at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and is currently undertaking a PhD with the ANU School of Music.
