Mauricio Takara plays in the bands Hurtmold and São Paulo Underground (with trumpeter Rob Mazurek from Chicago) and participates in live sessions with a number of improvisational, experimental and jazz greats such as Pharoah Sanders, Damo Suzuki, Yusef Lateef, Joe Lally, Naná Vasconcelos, Prefuse 73 and Makoto Kawabata.
